Why Does My Chest Hurt When I ride my bike?

i haven't ridden my bike for over a year, i just got a new one today and i rode it for a mere mile when my chest started to burn, not my heart but where my lungs connect to my throat, it may have been because i was on a very easy gear and i was pedaling quickly because i thought i was going rly slow not knowing i was on first gear. But after i changed it i was peddling slowly and it continued to burn a little. How could i make it not burn when im going at a fast peddling speed?
could it be posture?

Why do I still not get respect from my family?

So, I came out to my family just last week and nothing has changed with my Dad and my Mom is kinda in denial.
But my older Sister (19) who was the first person I came out to continues to say the most ridiculous things that make fun of me being gay.
Just yesterday I was singing Butterfly by Smile.dk which is stuck in my head, and she said "yeah, you're a butterfly".
So I told her to screw off, and she just laughed at me and then she got on my nerves and I hit her in the arm which got hurt in a bike accident the day before. Then she got really teary eyed, started yelling and kicking me, and my mom told me to say sorry.
Then my mom went on and on that I shouldn't be acting childish now that I'm "supposedly liberated" you should have heard the way she said it.
I'm not getting any support or respect from my family, but mostly my older sister who was the first one I went to!
How do I deal with them?

The bike is an Enduro. The speedometer only goes up to 80 mph but that's because of the thing in the late 70's and 80's with the ban of speedometers going over 85. I am sure it can go faster because I saw a 1974 DT 125 Speedometer and even that went up to 100 mph. I had bought the bike a couple of days ago. Haven't had a chance to ride it much yet. It's in pristine condition. I am very pleased with the bike. Thank You for all of your help in advance.

More Bike question.... Gears and Performance?

I just worked on my bike, cleaned, greased, and oiled (I only use high quality items made for bikes).

1) I went for a test ride. The Gear wont shift but only 1 and 2 out of 3 on front, and only 2 or 3 out of 7 on the rear. What could be the problem?


2)wobbleide is not smooth as front seems to be wabble a bit, and it wont give me a long nice streak ride when I am not pushing. What could be the problem ?

I have never taken my Trek to a dealer since I bought it back in 1996 for maintenance. Should I take fortunee dealer? (I know it would cost me a fourtune~!). The bike has hardly any wear on it since I have only used it less than a month worth in all these years.... everything is in original parts and condition. Still shinny and looks new. Just ride is not very comfortable / gears wont shift, etc.

How do I let my son know I'm better than he is?

My son is 6 and he thinks he's better than me!! It all started about 3 weeks ago a party i was playing him in Foosball, he beat me 10-7. I shouted at him because he cheated by "spinning" Next game he didnt spin at all, but somehow cheated and beat me 10-3! Then the next night i challenged him in a racing game, I tricked hi into picking the worst car in the game, he still beat me. Last week before a family bike i unscrewed his training wheels without him knowing, about 5 mins into the ride i challenged him to a race. i took off ahead quickly, i thought the race was mine for the taking. his training wheels came off, although he rode right past me anyway. i was so humiliated. then tonight he had his birthday party, the kids were having a soda chugging contest, i entered. i poured some Nightquil in his soda, however it didnt work he beat me....

I'm in seventh grade now. Last year there was this new boy who everybody liked. I personally didn't see what was so great about him. This really popular girl liked him but it was very unclear if he liked her, he knew she liked him. They were friends. And when I first met this boy he was very polite to me. He held doors open for me and stuff like that. Then a I didn't talk to him for months and when I started to talk to him again he acted like he completely hated me. But at the same time he acted like he wanted to be my friend. He would try to talk to me, then glare at me in the hallway. Once he saw my sister riding her bike and told her to tell me he said hi. Then later that day he saw me himself and acts like he hates me. My friend overheard him tell this other boy that he hates me because he used to like me.
Then the popular girl asked him out and he said yes even though he didn't like her that much. Then a week later, he realized he really doesn't like her, so he dumps her and popular girl was devastated because she was always the one who dumps the guy. After all that I guess he forgot he hated me and started acting more normal around me, but we still never talked. On the last day of school my friend told him she thinks I like him (not even sure if I did). And responds by saying, "That's disgusting!" But I know he didn't mean it because he acts like that to almost all the girls. He' was just a big baby and I hoped he would grow up over the summer.
So now it's my seventh grade year and ever since the first day when I walked into my first class with him, he's been staring at me. But we've never talked. And popular girl is being extra b*tchy this year and thinks she should be every guy's first choice. My friends want me to prove to her that she's not because they think that he still likes me and that we should hook up to prove to popular girl that she's not queen bee. And I actually did start to like him this year, I really want to start over and be friends.

Kryptonite EVO mini or New York Mini?

I would like to be carrying the lock around on my bike at all time since I rarely use my bike except on recreational ride once in a while to town / around a lake, etc. MOST of the time I do not leave my bike, but some time I park my bike... I've learned that I need / want a Kryptonite lock. Now, I did not know there are so many models out there. I think mini is my answer even it does not have an enough space to cover frame, tire, and whatever post I may be locking my bike to. I think these locks are crazy pricey, and I hope they fixed the lock mechanism problems (easy open with a pen / same key for multi locks, etc)?

Which EVO mini or Yew York min is better? or anything else is good out there?

How about the wire to go along with U-Lock for the front tire? I would think wire can be easily cut off by a thief ? How do I use this wire for the front tire? should I use it for both front and back tire? or just for front tire / frame / post ?

i remember seeing this movie when i was younger. I cant really remember it but it was a gangster movie or some type of mob movie where a white liked a black girl. could you recommend me a good bike lock system for the following needs?

1) Lock for a bike itself ... when parked in street, campus, shopping area, etc.
2 Lock when mounting on bike rack on your Vheichle.

Right now, I only have one 6' coil with lock under the saddle and I usually just wrap it around a post / tree to a frame and go... (not sure if this is the correct way to do it tho....)

I do not normally like to park a bike and lave it there for a long time, any idiot can come slice the tire, try to steal, etc,etc unlike cars, Bikes are much easier to get stolen.

6:30 AM-Get up, do about 20 or 30 crunches
7:00 AM-Eat a Fiber One 90 calorie granola bar for breakfast, plus an apple.
11:00- Lunch (my school's time, not mine) Ham, cheese, and cucumber sandwich, plus some kind of side (Baked\Toasted chips, etc)
3:30- Come home. Eat either an apple or one of those bowls of peaches in light syrup.
4:00 Do more crunches.
5-6:00- Go outside and do gymnastics with my sister. (somersaults, handstands, etc.)
6:30-Dinner. Some kind of meat or pasta.
After dinner- more gymnastics.
8:30- 9:00- Bedtime.

I might ride my bike, too. Will I reach my goal?

Does anyone know is a bike helmet could save a child's life if that child was hit by a car?

I know that bike helmets are essential and absolutely prevent head injuries when a child falls off a bike (assuming it fits properly and buckled, etc.)

But would a kid stand a chance if hit by a car and wearing a helmet?

In case your're wondering this question was prompted by an 8 year old being killed on his bike yesterday. He was riding with his father but he had no helmet on when a van struck him. :'(
Really? A helmet only protects the head? Well who whuda thunk it?

For chrissake, I know that. He died of a head injury. I'm asking if helmets are designed to protect in a big impact like that.

It's only dubious to a moron. I have my own child and these issues are important to me.

What is a really good hybrid bike (as in urban and terrain bike)?

Firstly, i live in Australia. Secondly, i've heard of hyrbrids that have a suspension at the front that can be 'turned on' and 'turned off' (basically, it's a lever/switch) and am thinkng of perhaps getting a bike with that feature (unless you think it's bad/ not really important). Thirdly, price range is between $800 - $1100. Please tell me why each bike is worthwhile and be kind - i'm really new to bike lingo :)

Im looking in to buying a street bike to save me some gas, but ive never roden a street bike ive been looking into the ninja 250 but i dont know what i should be aware of. My friend told me to listen to the motor but i dont get what i should be listening too. Any help?
